“Inspiring, exemplar, inclusive, caring, brilliant and supportive” are just some of the words that staff have used in our latest report looking at what it feels like to work for Procure Plus.
We recently appointed market research specialists Alchemy Research and The Edge to talk to staff across the company and find out what they think about working here.
The results are in, with consistent and positive feedback from across the business.
The findings from the surveys include:
- Employees feel the business adapted well to the tough challenges of COVID-19
- Employees are encouraged to develop and grow with good training opportunities
- Procure Plus offers a wide-ranging benefits package and hard work is rewarded
- Colleagues recognise teamworking as a fundamental cornerstone of the business
- Procure Plus regularly communicates with staff in ways that are valuable, effective and enjoyable
82% of staff responded to an on-line questionnaire which was followed by in-depth interviews with a cross-section of staff.
We received incredibly positive feedback about the teams that staff worked within and the support they get.
Communication is central to our approach. We regularly hold events such as Toolbox Talks, Learning Lunches and Away Days. We’re pleased to report that colleagues find these sessions vital to their roles, especially to foster inter-team relationships and enhance communication across the organisation.
All employees report they are encouraged to develop and grow through good training opportunities, reflecting the importance we place on investment in our staff.
We also offer a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, healthcare cash plan, generous holiday, company performance bonus and salary sacrifice schemes.
In the survey, the vast majority of our team said that they felt well-rewarded through their salaries and benefits. Many commented on how they felt that the business tried to ensure that staff have lives away from work with flexible working patterns that promote a healthy work/life balance.
There was a strong perception that the management team is visible, approachable, and supportive which strengthens our ‘Why don’t we?’ ethos – where colleagues are encouraged to realise their own ideas that will help improve the organisation’s existing offer and are fully supported in the implementation.
One colleague said: “It’s like a new family. You can just go up to anyone and it’s like you’ve known them for your entire life.”
We’re delighted our staff report that the ‘giving back to the community’ aspect of the business was a key motivator towards them joining the Procure Plus team.
John Shepherd, Managing Director of Alchemy Research who carried out the survey said: “It was a pleasure to be asked to repeat the ‘Employee Research’ that we first conducted in 2018 and, in particular, to find that the exceptional high levels of satisfaction evidenced in the initial survey have been maintained across the Group.
“There was again a very positive reaction to the working environment and high praise for the leadership team, with the support from managers highlighted as a particular strength. We were also pleased to find that employees were encouraged to develop and grow within the business, with numerous positive examples of both professional and in-house training noted. Importantly, colleagues were also satisfied with the benefits received, in particular the salary and bonus scheme, combined with the flexible working and social activities. Overall, it was evident that the Group has clearly maintained the exceptional standards that we first identified in 2018.”
Chief Executive Mike Brogan said: “We are immensely proud of our culture at Procure Plus. We work together as one big team to deliver more and make a positive difference. Receiving this feedback is due recognition that Procure Plus is investing in the wellbeing and future of our employees, helping us recruit and retain the best people and making Procure Plus a wonderful place to work.
“I’d like to thank everyone who took part in the survey. These results are valuable in enabling us to understand what people are feeling and thinking about work, and where we need to improve to make things even better.”
